Guidelines for Authors
1. Topics
Philosophical Inquiries covers six main areas of philosophy: epistemology, ethics, aesthetics, metaphysics, philosophy of mind, philosophy of science.
2. Articles submission
The manuscripts should be original and should not have been previously published. Please do not submit material that is currently being considered by another journal.
Manuscripts must be submitted through OJS.
An abstract and few keywords (minimum 3, maximum 5) are requested upon submitting. Author will be required to sign a Copyright Transfer Agreement Form if their paper(s) is(are) accepted for publication.
3. Length and languages
Philosophical Inquiries will accept only contributions written in English and no more than 9000-word long (text, tables, endnotes, appendixes, and references included).
4. Acceptance
It is not our policy to pay authors. Authors of accepted works will have to adapt their work to journal’s style. Authors will be required to revise their paper(s) according to the reviewers' comments.
5. Peer Review
Philosophical Inquiries is a peer-reviewed journal. All papers considered appropriate for the journal are reviewed anonymously by two (sometimes three) reviewers. If the first review is negative, it is possible that the submission will be rejected without requesting a second review. Authors will be required to revise their paper(s) according to the reviewers’ comments, and to sign a Copyright Transfer Agreement Form if their paper(s) is accepted for publication.
6. Timing
Authors will receive a response within 90 days from the submission.
7. Editorial Procedures
Papers accepted for publication are subject to non-substantive, stylistic editing. The Editor reserves the right to make any necessary changes in the papers, or request the author to do so, or reject the submitted paper.
8. Proofreading
The proofs will be sent along to the author for confirmation.
